As the chilly embraces of autumn and winter settle in across the region, viruses find their comfort across the prairies, too.
Flu shots are readily available at public health clinics, local pharmacies, and select physician and nurse practitioner offices throughout the province.
Health Minister, Everett Hindley, urges residents to get vaccinated, safeguarding not only themselves but also those around them.
“People have the option to get a number of immunizations that are available to them if they so choose,” he said. "Particularly if you're in a high-risk category. Immunizations are available across the province.”
Among the most vulnerable are seniors, individuals with chronic health concerns, compromised immune systems, children under five, and expectant mothers.
These high-risk groups are strongly advised to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
When attending, be sure to carry a valid health card and a photo ID and expect a brief 15-minute stay afterwards.
In addition to flu vaccinations, COVID-19 immunizations will also be available for those who are eligible, further enhancing protection.
