Taloyoak health centre temporary closure | Government of Nunavut - Government of Nunavut |

Public Service Announcement
Taloyoak health centre temporary closure

The Department of Health is advising residents of Taloyoak of a temporary closure of the health centre on September 6 due to staff shortages.

During the temporary closure, paramedics are on site to provide emergent care. The Department of Health will use a combination of virtual health and paramedic services to support clients in Taloyoak.

Calls will continue to go to the health centre and be directed to virtual support services. Calls may be automatically forwarded to other communities, and callers are asked to not hang up if there are delays while the call is connecting. Support staff will continue services such as filling prescriptions, but there could be delays and clients are advised to get their medications prior to the closure.

Closures are subject to change based on staff availability. There may be changes to services if staffing levels change.

The Department of Health is working with government and territorial partners to ensure Nunavummiut have access to necessary health services while addressing staff shortages.
