The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance’s (HPHA) COVID, Cold and Flu Care Clinic is closing at the end of this week, due to what they’re calling a steady decline in patient volume.

Thursday, March 30 will be the last day for COVID-19 testing at the Stratford Medical Centre location. The last opportunity for physician assessment will be Friday, March 31.

The clinic moved to its current location at the family team office in September 2022 and expanded clinical assessment eligibility to individuals experiencing a wide range of respiratory symptoms in December. They say to date, they’ve conducted over 54,000 PCR tests and over 2,000 clinical assessments.

“The contribution this team has made to the quality of our local health system during the pandemic has been outstanding,” said Andrew Williams, President and CEO. “As we close our CCFCC a huge thank you is extended to our community partners including the Stratford Rotary Complex, the wonderful staff at the Stratford Family Health Team, Emad Salama of PrinceRx Pharmacy for generously paying the parking fees for all the CCFCC patients and, of course, all the staff and physicians that worked tirelessly provide this service.”

Those seeking COVID-19 assessment, testing or antiviral treatment after this week can contact their family doctor; or visit Ontario’s COVID-19 web page to find a local pharmacy offering testing and treatment.

The HPHA encourages residents to continue taking actions to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses: including making in public spaces, keeping up-to-date with vaccinations, washing their hands and staying home when sick (unless seeking medical care).

If you develop severe symptoms requiring medical attention, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, loss of consciousness, or confusion, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
