The number of flu-related deaths in the Central Zone has increased by one over the past week for a total of two this season so far.
Throughout the province, the Edmonton Zone currently has the most influenza cases at 1,379 with 212 in hospital, 19 in ICU and four flu-related deaths.
The Calgary Zone currently has 1,243 cases of influenza with 218 in hospital, 20 in ICU and four flu-related deaths.
The North Zone has 563 cases of influenza currently, with 49 patients in hospital, six in intensive care and one flu-related death.
South Zone currently has 117 cases of influenza with 24 in hospital, two in ICU and one flu-related death.
Seven additional cases of influenza have also been identified in the province including three hospitalizations but in unconfirmed locations.
According to AHS, 911,529 doses of the influenza vaccine have been administered in the province so far this season, equalling 20.5 per cent coverage.
