Mosquitoes in Oshawa and Ajax test positive for West Nile virus - durhamradionews.com

Although temperatures may be getting cooler mosquitoes are still out.

The Durham Health Department says more mosquitoes in the region have tested positive for the West Nile Virus (WNV).

The latest positive mosquitoes were collected from two of the Department’s trap sites; one in Oshawa and the other in Ajax.

This brings the total number of batches of mosquitoes testing positive for WNV in Durham Region to 11 so far this season.

The health department says it’s still important for you to take precautions against WNV by avoiding mosquito bites and removing standing water from your property.
