THUNDER BAY — The outbreak of COVID-19 at the Southbridge Roseview long-term care home in Thunder Bay has widened.
The outbreak was first declared on Apr. 18, 2022 in the Cheshire and Renaissance Units of the facility on Shuniah Street.
On Monday, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and Southbridge Care Homes announced that it is now considered a facility-wide outbreak.
Further details were not provided in a TBDHU news release.
In a post on its own website, Southbridge said previously that nine residents and six staff members on the Cheshire and Renaissance units had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
It said every individual affected was fully vaccinated, and that staff members were isolating at home.
Southbridge said it was working closely with public health staff, its own medical staff and with infection prevention and control specialists to manage the situation.
TBDHU also announced Monday afternoon that new COVID outbreaks have been declared at Hogarth Riverview Manor 2 North (Lavender resident home area), and at St. Joseph's Hospital's Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (1 East).
The health unit said it was conducting a thorough assessment of the situation at both facilities.
