For those trying to book appointments through the provincial booking system, public health has confirmed clinic appointments are being uploaded through to April 24 presently. And if those clinics aren't showing yet, they should be soon, says the medical officer of health. The advice remains the same for residents trying to book appointments, and that's just to keep checking and trying.

These are the latest details on clinics in Northumberland if trying to book appointments through the provincial system and as provided by public health:

- At the Cobourg Community Centre, clinics are still full up until April 1. More clinics will start next week, and dates and times will be added to the provincial booking system in coming days, says public health.

- At the Trent Hills Emergency Services Base, clinic dates and times are still set to be added in coming weeks, according to the latest details provided by public health, though clinics are supposed to start the week of April 5.

The local medical officer of health weighs in on vaccine supply and clinics in Northumberland, including how the provincial booking system works. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24

-- 3 p.m.

Public health has posted the following:

At the Cobourg Community Centre, clinics taking place March 25 to April 1 are now filled. More clinics will start next week and dates and times will be added to the provincial booking system in the coming days.

At the Trent Hills Emergency Services Base, there has been no changes reported. Clinic dates and times will be added to the provincial booking system in coming weeks, with clinics starting the week of April 5. (More clinics expected at the CCC this week, too.)

Again, presently, Northumberland residents born in 1946 or earlier can use the provincial booking system to make appointments.

OF NOTE: Public health says once a local clinic is filled, it will no longer be visible on the provincial booking system. This is when/why residents will be redirected to the closest clinics based on postal codes. Officials suggest residents keep looking. In other words, if none are visible, check the system again in a few days as more clinic dates and appointments continue to be loaded. This is not a glitch; the system was designed to work this way, the medical officer of health told media Wednesday afternoon. The MOH said it has to due with vaccine supply, and they don't want to be booking people for appointments and then having to cancel. More to come on this soon.

-- 9:13 a.m.

No update/changes posted by public health on local clinics.

TUESDAY, MARCH 23

Locally, eligible residents who can use the booking system presently (and make appointments once clinics are uploaded into the provincial system) include anyone born in 1946 or before.

Online via the province’s vaccine site it states age eligibility as follows:

-If you’re 75 or older in 2021, you have the option to book a vaccine appointment at a mass vaccination clinic or pharmacy

-If you’re 60 or older in 2021, you can book your vaccine appointment at a pharmacy.

It will detail the closest clinics and participating pharmacies. There was no confirmation of local pharmacies with vaccines as of this time.

HELPFUL INFO:

To book appointments online visit www.ontario.ca/bookvaccine.

The number to call and book an appointment is 1-888-999-6488. Phone lines are open Monday to Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
