Small changes to COVID-19 numbers reported Wednesday for Waterloo Region - TheRecord.com

WATERLOO REGION — Only small changes in COVID-19 numbers were reported for Waterloo Region in the Wednesday update.

COVID-19 cases went up by nine to 19,861.

Variants of concern cases increased by six to 6,552.

Active cases went down by two to 117.

Hospitalizations went up by two to eight, and four people are in intensive care.

Outbreaks dropped by one to seven. Five of those are in schools, together connected to 15 cases.

Deaths remained at 300.

A total of 895,994 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given to regional residents: 89.96 per cent of residents 12 and older have received at least one dose, and 85.63 per cent are fully vaccinated.
