More than one million COVID-19 tests have been completed in Manitoba since the start of the pandemic.
The Province of Manitoba is sharing a recap of COVID-19 cases since Tuesday, saying there have been 349 new cases.
Since Tuesday there have been:
- 122 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
- 88 cases in the Winnipeg health region
- 63 cases in the Northern health region
- 54 cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region
- 22 cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region
This includes 42 cases on Tuesday, 114 cases on Wednesday, 115 cases on Thursday, and 78 cases Friday. There are new 60,628 total confirmed COVID cases, with 58,705 recoveries.
There are 712 active cases.
Out of Friday's new cases, there are
- 31 new cases, with 24 not fully vaccinated, in the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region
- 20 new cases, with 11 not fully vaccinated, in the Winnipeg health region
- 11 new cases, with 11 not fully vaccinated, in the Prairie Mountain Health region
- eight new cases, with eight not fully vaccinated, in the Northern health region
- eight new cases, with seven not fully vaccinated, in the Interlake-Eastern health region
Manitoba's test rate is three per cent, and Winnipeg's rate is 1.3 per cent. To date, 1,005,687 COVID-19 tests have been completed with 3,209 of those tests from yesterday.
There are 1,211 COVID deaths. The two new deaths from Tuesday include a female in her 70s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region linked to the unspecified variant of concern and a female in her 80s from the Southern Health-Santé Sud health region linked to the unspecified variant concern.
Hospitalizations
There are 92 people in the hospital due to COVID-19. This includes 60 active cases and 32 people who are no longer infectious.
In intensive care, there are 19 people, with 14 of those people having active COVID cases. The remainder of patients are no longer infectious
