IQALUIT, Nunavut — People in Nunavut can now get proof of COVID-19 vaccination certificates.
Nunavut's health department says the certificates comply with federal proof of vaccination requirements for travel and for access to non-essential services in other jurisdictions.
The certificate includes a person's name, date of birth, vaccination information and a QR code.
People can pick up the certificates at their local health centres or hospital, Iqaluit Public Health or during clinics at Iqaluit's cadet hall.
Officials say those travelling into Nunavut still need to request a vaccine exemption letter to enter the territory and note the certificate does not replace that process.
There are seven cases of COVID-19 in Nunavut, all in the hamlet of Coral Harbour.
