The additional cases saw the seven-day rolling average of new cases in the province rise to 648, its highest point since mid-May.
A total of 393,337 infections have now been confirmed in the province since the first one was reported in February of 2020.
Hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care continue to rise, reaching levels last experienced more than two months ago, when the province was on the downslope of the third wave.
The number of hospitalizations increased by 11 to 160, which is nearly three times the number of patients who were in hospital due to COVID-19 a month ago.
