82 new COVID-19 cases in the London area since Friday, no deaths - CBC.ca

Recent developments:

What's the latest situation for the London area?

The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) reported 82 new COVID-19 cases since Friday and no additional deaths. The latest tally includes 22 cases on Saturday, 30 cases on Sunday, 18 cases on Monday and 12 reported Tuesday.

The majority of cases were among people 19 and younger (26), followed by people in their 20s (20).

There were five additional cases of the delta variant confirmed in the region, bringing the total up to 467 since late May.

The MLHU posted 98 recoveries since Friday, with 203 known active cases in the region. The rolling seven-day average of daily cases is declining to 22.

Nearly 65 per cent of total recent cases are among people who are not vaccinated. Twenty per cent are people with one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and just over 16 per cent are fully vaccinated.

London Health Sciences Centre says it is treating 11 patients with COVID-19-related illnesses. There are five or fewer patients in adult critical care and five or fewer patients with COVID-19 in the Children's Hospital.

Six staff members at the hospital network have tested positive for the virus and are in quarantine.

Here's where the pop-up vaccination clinics are

The MLHU is hosting one pop-up clinic on Tuesday at CF Masonville Place, first floor near mall entrance 3, available until 7 p.m. The clinic at Masonville will continue daily until Sunday.

For a full list of pop-up walk-in clinics this week, visit the MLHU's website here.
