B.C. has recorded 724 new cases of COVID-19 and two more people in Interior Health have died due to the disease.
Interior Health continues to lead the province in new cases, accounting for 271 of the new cases on Thursday.

Elsewhere, there were 185 in Fraser Health, 142 in Vancouver Coastal Health, 62 in Northern Health and 64 in Island Health.
Most (2,014) of the active cases are in Interior Health, but Fraser Health (1,319) and Vancouver Coastal Health (1,432) have similar active case loads. The province has 5,640 active cases in total.
Hospitalization numbers are up again, with 149 recorded in hospital on Thursday and 83 of those patients requiring critical care in ICUs.
Over the past week, from Aug. 18 to Aug. 24, 82.4 per cent of all COVID-19 cases in B.C. have been among the unvaccinated or partially vaccinated. In addition, 86.4 per cent of those hospitalized were unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated.
B.C.'s vaccination effort began in December 2020. To date, 83.7 per cent of all British Columbians have received one dose of vaccine and 75.6 per cent have received both doses.
