Ottawa Community Housing announced Friday vaccinations will be required for staff and contractors at all facilities.

In a Twitter message, OCH said it would mandate “the required COVID-19 vaccination” in its operation.

Employees will be able to disclose their status beginning next week, Rideau-Vanier Coun. Mathieu Fleury, chair of Ottawa Community Housing, said in a radio interview on Newstalk 580 CFRA.

Ottawa Community Housing employs 400 people and has about 32,000 tenants across the city.

On Tuesday, Mayor Jim Watson told city managers to develop a COVID-19 vaccine policy for all city staff and the members of the public they might be dealing with.
