The province reported 170 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday, with three additional deaths.

There have been 548,986 cases and 9,311 deaths since the pandemic began.

There are 125 people in hospital, and 132 cases in ICU and 86 on ventilators. (Ontario Public Health statistics of ICU hospitalizations and ventilator cases contain some patients who no longer test positive for COVID-19 but who are being treated for conditions caused by the virus.)

There were 124,261 doses of vaccine administered Friday, bringing the overall total to 18,848,661.

That brings the percentage of adults fully vaccinated to 67.10 across the province. At least 80.7 per cent of all adults have received one dose.

Ontario Public Health reported six new cases in Ottawa. Ottawa Public reports its own statistics later in the day, which can vary from the provincial report because the data are collected are different times.

In regions close to Ottawa, The Eastern Ontario Health Unit, which includes Cornwall and Hawkesbury, reported four new cases, while there was another case reported in Leeds, Grenville region. There were no new cases in the Kingston area or Renfrew district.

There were 19,131 tests completed, with a positivity rate of 0.8 per cent.

The reproductive number — R(t) — remains at 0.97. The R(t) is an estimate of the average number of people that one person with COVID-19 will infect.
