With millions of vaccines expected to be delivered in coming weeks to Ontario, the province is opening up bookings at vaccine clinics next Monday for second doses of MRNA (Pfizer and Moderna) for residents aged 70 and over.

The province said Friday those who received a dose before April 18 can book what it called “an accelerated second dose appointment” ahead of schedule.

“Ontario expects to receive approximately 4.7 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in June and approximately 3.54 million doses in July,” said the province in Friday’s announcement.

“The province has also received 193,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine. This reliable and increased supply of vaccines has allowed the province to rapidly expand access to vaccines in all public health units and through various channels, including mass immunization clinics, hospital clinics, pharmacies and primary care settings, providing convenient access across Ontario.”
