The June 13 dashboard report from Region of Waterloo Public Health shows 463 active cases of the virus, with a total of 15,890 cases resolved.
There were 86 new positive cases of the virus reported for a total of 16,621 positive cases of COVID-19 in the region, 33 of which are currently hospitalized. Among the cases currently hospitalized in the region for the virus, 20 have entered an intensive-care unit.
There are 3,454 cases of a variant identified in Waterloo region, with 3,042 cases of the B.1.1.7 variant (U.K.), 11 cases of B.1.351 (first detected in South Africa), 35 cases of B.1.617 (first detected in India) and 60 cases of P.1 (first detected in Brazil).
There have been a total of 501,951 COVID-19 tests administered (updated on Tuesday and Friday).
258 deaths have been reported of those testing positive with the virus.
The total number of outbreaks in the region is now 4, with the breakdown as follows:

On Wednesday, an outbreak was reported at Trillium Bilingual Montessori in Kitchener, with two confirmed cases. On Thursday, a five-case outbreak was declared at a general office setting.
Transmission of the virus is the highest in the region in close contact cases, where 7,615 have been reported.
In the rest of the cases, 5,045 were acquired through community transmission, 3,590 cases were acquired through outbreak, 311 cases acquired COVID-19 while travelling.
The highest number of cases in Waterloo region is in adults in their 20s with 4,175. People in their 30s represent 2,764 of the cases, while those in their 40s make up 2,231 of the region's cases. 814 kids under the age of nine have tested positive, and 1,652 between the age of 10 and 19.

Just over 6 per cent of cases to date, 1,013 in total, are among health-care workers.
The region does not report the age, gender, transmission route and testing site of individual cases, as well as negative tests.
