Anti-Vaxxer Regrets Not Getting Covid Vaccine After Needing Lung Transplant - LADbible

A man says he regrets not getting the Covid-19 vaccine after he came within days of dying.

Josh Garza, from Texas, thought he could stay safe by following the health measures put in place by the US government, but now wishes he had got the jab.

The 43-year-old sadly contracted the deadly virus, which caused him to spend four months in the Houston Methodist Hospital.

He had developed pneumonia, which caused irreversible lung tissue damage.

On X-ray scans, his lungs were barely visible, hidden by a thick cloud, and it was eventually decided that he would need a double lung transplant.

"I didn't want to be the guinea pig. I was just opposed to it," he told CNN about his decision to refuse the vaccine.

"If could do it all over again, I'd get it. No doubt. What I went through is probably the worst I've ever seen."

According to reports, Mr Garza, who suffers with high blood pressure and diabetes, was just days away from death.

Now at home recovering from his operation, he has urged others out there who may be hesitant about getting the vaccine not to wait.

He said: "Think about your family. Because what I went through, I had to put my family through, also.

"I wish people would at least reconsider, or at least listen to what we went through, and hopefully you never have to go through that - ever."

Appearing on the UK's Channel 4, Sir David said the wider community shouldn't listen to anti-vaxxers.

"It is an ignorance of medical fact and if you don't understand it, it's very easy to mistrust it," he said.

"After all, you're dealing with something precious with your own body, your own life, and you wish to protect that. Quite right too.

"And if you don't understand what a vaccination actually does, and to some degree how it does it, then you say, 'Keep off me.'

"If there are people who say that and then get the upper hand in trying to persuade people and frightening people who don't understand, then you're in a serious situation."

Adblock test (Why?)
