Tracking the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Toronto - Toronto Star

COVID-19 vaccines are being administered in Toronto.

In addition to updating you daily on COVID-19 cases in Toronto, toronto.com is tracking every COVID-19 vaccine given in the city.

To date, Toronto Public Health (TPH) is reporting that 2,010,103 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered, after giving out 23,137 shots since May 24.

The chart below uses in-depth data published by TPH, which is updated twice per week on Monday and Thursday by 3 p.m., except on statutory holidays. The data in this chart is from May 24.

The province has prioritized who gets the vaccine in a three phase rollout:

  • Phase 1 (December 2020 to March 2021): Residents, staff, essential caregivers and other employees in congregate living settings for seniors; health-care workers, including hospital employees, staff who work or study in hospitals and health-care personnel; adults in First Nations, Métis and Inuit populations and adult recipients of chronic home health care.
  • Phase 2 (March to July 2021): Roughly 8.5 million people in groups such as seniors, those living and working in high-risk congregate settings like shelters, front-line workers, individuals with high-risk chronic conditions and their caregivers and others facing barriers related to the determinants of health across Ontario who are at greater COVID-19.
  • Phase 3 (August 2021 and beyond, depending on availability of vaccines): Remaining Ontarians in the general population who wish to be vaccinated will receive it.

Ontario has also been administering vaccines throughout the province. Below are provincial numbers, updated daily by the Toronto Star, toronto.com's sister outlet.
