AHS confirms 1633 COVID cases in Alberta Sunday - Lethbridge News Now

Active infections in Lethbridge fell by 15 and regionally by 22.

Since yesterday’s report, two Albertans died from COVID with one each in the Calgary and Central Zones. To date, 2,110 people in the province have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 668 patients are currently hospitalized including 155 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 15,509 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,317,240 tests completed on 2,085,567 different people.

1,889,039 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of May 8.

Since yesterday’s report, 411 cases of COVID-19 variants were confirmed provincially with 42 of those coming from the South Zone.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone:

  • Calgary Zone – 84,177 cases, 11,312 active
    • 237 in hospital, 53 in ICU
    • 642 deaths (one new)
  • Edmonton Zone – 72,209 cases, 5,917 active
    • 242 in hospital, 67 in ICU
    • 1,045 deaths
  • North Zone – 22,952 cases, 3,749 active
    • 86 in hospital, 19 in ICU
    • 163 deaths
  • Central Zone – 18,093 cases, 2,844 active
    • 66 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 140 deaths (one new)
  • South Zone – 11,300 cases, 1,333 active
    • 37 in hospital, nine in ICU
    • 120 deaths

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South:

  • Lethbridge – 4,500 cases (21 new), 443 active, 36 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 1,620 cases (seven new), 161 active, three deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 1,525 cases (10 new), 159 active, nine deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 1,354 cases (four new), 121 active, 24 deaths
  • Brooks – 1,435 cases (five new), 41 active, 14 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 1,114 cases (six new), 175 active, 12 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 1,053 cases (16 new), 239 active, 18 deaths
  • Cardston County – 948 cases (five new), 76 active, 16 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 541 cases (three new), 62 active, six deaths
  • County of Warner – 401 cases (one new), 129 active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 283 cases, 17 active, five deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 286 cases (four new), 82 active, five deaths
  • Cypress County – 239 cases (one new), 19 active, zero deaths
  • County of Newell – 191 cases (three new), 15 active, two deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 153 cases, nine active, three deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – 63 cases, 18 active, zero deaths
  • Waterton – One case, zero active, zero deaths
